Our animal experiences revolve around the animal, letting it choose how it interacts with you. Your patience will be rewarded as our beautiful animals come to you.

Experience the thrill of getting up close with squirrel monkeys, a capybara, giraffes, and endearing common marmosets. Age restrictions and safety conditions apply to all animal encounters, ensuring a secure and memorable experience.

QUOKKA ENCOUNTER

Experience joy with quokkas in the Hunter Valley! Capture the world's happiest animal with a close encounter, perfect for feeding them a snack and getting a Quokka selfie.

CAPYBARA ENCOUNTER

11:00am

Come and experience an interactive Capybara encounter, the largest rodent in the world! You’ll get the chance to meet these gentle, social animals up close and feed them a tasty snack.

Squirrel Monkey Encounter

11:00am & 3:00pm

Swing into adventure with our exciting Squirrel Monkey Encounter – a wild experience you won’t forget with these energetic, playful primates.

Marmoset Encounter

11:30am

Our energetic Common Marmosets are always excited to meet new friends - and now, you can step right into their world! Watch them leap and climb through their treetop playground, and feed them a treat.

Lion Encounter

9:30am

Get an up close and personal experience with our resident African lions where you'll get to feed one of the largest predators in the world. This is your chance to connect with the wild in a way few ever will.

MEERKAT ENCOUNTER

10:30am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm & 3:15pm

Meerkats are fun and overflowing with personality. You'll have a chance to observe their complex social structures and unique behaviours up close.

BLACK & WHITE RUFFED LEMUR ENCOUNTER

10:30am

Get close to ruffed Lemurs - these critically endangered primates are a social animal and your encounter might even feature two Lemurs!

Giraffe Feeding Experience

10:00am

Enjoy a unique and amazing experience hand-feeding our graceful slender giraffes under the guidance of an expert Zookeeper.

Interactive Experiences

WILDLIFE SUNRISE TOUR

Wildlife Sunrise is the ultimate new experience at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park and features a bespoke guided tour from one of our experienced Zookeepers, hand-feeding Giraffes, breakfast and more! Available Sunday's at 8am.

Camel Feeding

Our friendly Camels love a snack and a pat, but be careful to hold you hand flat as they may get carried away taking the food from your hand. Purchase animal food from the admissions counter on your way into the park.

Farmyard Friends

The kids will love meeting our adorable farmyard friends! Pat, feed and play with a range of creatures in our walk through farmyard.

Kangaroo Feeding

You can feed Kangaroos and Wallabies every day during opening hours at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park

At Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park, you can follow our bird keeper right into our Little Penguin Enclosure, and hand feed the world's smallest species of penguins whilst you learn more about the behaviour and characteristics of these mesmerising flightless native birds.

Quokkas are well-known as the 'world's happiest animals' with their characteristic grins, and Featherdale is the only place on Australia's East Coast where you can hand-feed these adorable animals

If heading south is more your style, at Mogo Wildlife Park, and you can encounter our magnificent tigers up-close, hand-feed a red panda, and even spend some time face-to-face with a hyena!
